Job summary

SAM Building Contracting (L.L.C) is looking for a Civil Draftsman to prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil projects in the UAE. You will develop site layouts, road profiles, utilities, and structures while ensuring compliance with local codes and standards.

Collaborate with engineers, architects, and team members, revise drawings based on feedback, and maintain organized documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certification in Civil Drafting or related field.
• 2+ years of experience as a civil draftsman or similar role.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other drafting software.
• Understanding of civil engineering concepts and construction processes.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with BIM and GIS is a plus.
• Exposure to structural and architectural drafting is beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings for civil engineering projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant software. Develop site layouts, grading plans, road profiles, utility layouts and structural details. Collaborate with civil engineers, architects and other team members to collect design specifications and resolve design issues. Revise drawings based on feedback and mark-ups from engineers and project managers. Ensure drawings comply with local regulations, codes and standards. Maintain and organize drawing files and related documents in accordance with company standards. Conduct site visits when necessary to gather data or verify measurements. Assist in preparing quantity take-offs and bill of materials. Keep up-to-date with advancements in design software and industry standards.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or certification in Civil Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience (typically 2+ years) as a civil draftsman or similar role.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant drafting/design software.
