Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with a focus on Business Technology to lead our technology strategy and drive the innovation of payment solutions. In this strategic leadership role, you will bridge the gap between business and technology, ensuring that our technological infrastructure aligns with the overall business objectives and drives operational excellence. You will lead the development and execution of technology roadmaps that enhance customer experiences, drive growth, and enable new business opportunities in the payments ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will have experience in payments, financial technologies, and a strong background in leading technology teams that deliver business-oriented solutions, focusing on scalability, agility, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technology Strategy & Alignment:

Develop and execute the technology strategy in alignment with the company’s business objectives. Ensure the tech roadmap supports organizational goals, enhances customer experience, and drives revenue growth.

  • Business Technology Leadership:

Lead the technology function, emphasizing business technology solutions that support customer needs, operational efficiency, and strategic goals. Act as the bridge between business and technology teams to ensure alignment of objectives.

  • Product Development & Innovation:

Work closely with product and business teams to ensure the continuous evolution of the payments platform and product offerings. Leverage emerging technologies and innovations to drive new business capabilities and solutions, such as digital wallets, instant payments, and cross-border payment solutions.

  • Technology Integration for Payments Systems:

Oversee the integration of new payment schemes, digital solutions, and third-party technologies into the existing ecosystem, ensuring seamless operational and business continuity.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with key stakeholders including marketing, product management, operations, and customer successteams to drive the development of business-centric technology solutions that align with market trends and customer needs.

  • Business Performance & Metrics:

Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the impact of technology initiatives on business performance. Use data-driven insights to continuously optimize technology investments for business value.

  • Team Leadership & Development:

Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing technology team with a focus on business solutions and product delivery. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across teams.

  • Risk Management & Compliance:

Ensure the company’s technology initiatives comply with industry standards, data protection regulations, and payment processing guidelines. Manage risks associated with technology deployments, ensuring business continuity and security.

  • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:

Act as a technology leader in external engagements, representing the company at industry events, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and customers. Promote technology solutions that deliver business value and competitive advantage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or related fields. MBA or similar advanced degree is a plus.
  • 15+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a focus on business technology in the paymentsor fintech industry.
  • Proven experience in leading cross-functional teamsand driving the development of business-oriented technology solutions.
  • Strong understanding of payment processing systems, digital payment solutions, and emerging financial technologies.
  • Experience in integrating complex payment systems and third-party technologies to enhance business operations.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align technology with business goals.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technology solutions in business terms.
  • Experience in developing and implementing technology roadmaps that drive business results.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities.
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Deep understanding of the payments ecosystem, including digital wallets, instant payments, EMV, card processing, and cross-border payments.
  • Knowledge of payment-related regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS, PSD2).
