Job summary

Caliberly® - Recruitment Agency is seeking a Chief Operating Officer for metals (manufacturing) in the UAE. The role focuses on leading recycling, manufacturing, trading, and commercial operations, with oversight of processing aluminium/copper scrap into ingots and finished products.

The candidate should have 15+ years in non-ferrous metals, strong UAE/GCC experience, and a proven track record in profitability and large multi-functional leadership. Negotiable salary up to AED 65,000.

Responsibilities

• Own overall business performance, revenue, margins and profitability.
• Lead integrated recycling, manufacturing, trading and commercial operations.
• Oversee processing of aluminium/copper scrap into ingots and finished products.
• Develop and strengthen bulk scrap sourcing and procurement networks across international markets.
• Lead domestic and international scrap trading activities, including pricing, quality, credit and commercial risk.
• Develop markets and customer relationships for aluminium/copper ingots and finished products.
• Identify new markets, suppliers, customers, trading opportunities and strategic partnerships.
• Drive plant efficiency, production capacity, yield improvement, cost optimisation and quality.
• Align procurement, production, inventory, sales and logistics to maximise contribution margins.
• Lead and develop large, multi-functional teams across Operations, Production, Procurement, Trading, Sales, Finance, Logistics, Quality and Maintenance.
• Manage working capital, cash flow, inventory, receivables, payables and trade-finance requirements.
• Develop long-term business expansion strategies, including new markets, capacity expansion, JVs and strategic partnerships.
• Monitor global aluminium and copper market dynamics and translate market intelligence into commercial opportunities.
• Ensure robust governance, risk management and applicable UAE/international trade compliance.

Requirements

• At least 15+ years of experience with non-ferrous metal
• Strong aluminium and/or copper industry exposure.
• Proven experience across both metal recycling/manufacturing plant and trading.
• If you have experience into mining also that would be beneficial.
• Strong track record in bulk scrap procurement and sourcing.
• Demonstrated experience trading scrap and/or finished aluminium/copper products.
• Proven ownership with measurable commercial and profitability achievements.
• Experience managing large, multi-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
• Strong international metals-market and cross-border trading exposure.
• UAE/GCC experience is essential.
• Exposure to mining, upstream resources or mining-linked supply chains will be highly advantageous.
