Job summary

EDMP Group is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead day-to-day operations and support growth across international markets from JAFZA, Dubai. The COO will work with the CEO and executive team to translate strategy into actionable plans, oversee Manufacturing, Engineering, Projects, Supply Chain, Quality, Sales Operations, HR, Finance and Administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management or related field.
• Master’s degree (MBA) or equivalent postgraduate qualification is highly desirable.
• Professional certifications in Operations Management, Project Management, Lean Six Sigma or related disciplines are an advantage.

Position Overview

EDMP Group is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and oversee the company’s day-to-day operations and support the continued growth of the organisation across international markets.

The COO will work closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to translate the company’s strategy into effective operational execution. The role requires a highly experienced, hands-on leader who can oversee multiple business functions, establish strong operational discipline, improve cross-functional coordination and ensure that business commitments are delivered.

The successful candidate will have significant senior leadership experience within a complex technology, engineering, manufacturing, energy or utilities environment, with a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and international operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall day-to-day operations of the organisation and ensure effective execution of business priorities.
• Translate corporate strategy into clear operational plans, objectives, responsibilities and measurable outcomes.
• Oversee and align Manufacturing, Engineering, Projects, Supply Chain, Quality, Sales Operations, HR, Finance and Administration.
• Establish and monitor operational KPIs, management reporting, performance standards and accountability frameworks.
• Ensure production schedules, projects, customer commitments and operational milestones are delivered on time and to the required standards.
• Drive continuous improvement across operational processes, productivity, efficiency and organisational effectiveness.
• Identify operational risks, bottlenecks and performance gaps and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Drive effective resource planning and cost optimisation in coordination with Finance and functional leaders.
• Strengthen cross-functional communication and ensure departments work effectively towards common business objectives.
• Develop and mentor department heads and managers, strengthening leadership capability across the organisation.
• Establish and maintain effective operational governance, policies, procedures and controls.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, quality, health & safety and company requirements.
• Support the expansion and scaling of the company’s operations across the UAE and international markets.
• Provide the CEO and executive leadership team with clear visibility of operational performance, priorities, risks and required actions.
• Build a culture of ownership, accountability, discipline, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management or a related discipline.
• Master’s degree, MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is highly desirable.
• Professional certifications in Operations Management, Project Management, Lean Six Sigma or related disciplines are an advantage.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of progressive professional experience within technology, engineering, manufacturing, energy, utilities or a similarly complex industrial environment.
• Significant experience in a senior operational leadership position, such as COO, Operations Director, General Manager, Managing Director or equivalent.
• Proven experience managing multiple business functions and large multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, engineering, project delivery, supply chain, quality and overall business operations.
• Demonstrated experience establishing KPIs, operational processes, reporting structures and performance management systems.
• Experience managing operational budgets, resource planning, cost control and efficiency improvement.
• Proven track record of leading organisational growth, operational transformation or business scaling.
• Experience working across international markets and managing multi-country or multi-location operations.
• Strong commercial and financial understanding, with the ability to connect operational decisions to overall business performance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management and decision-making skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify issues early and drive them through to resolution.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with multiple priorities and a high level of accountability.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
