Job summary

Apt Resources represents a prominent hotel group seeking a Chief Engineer to lead engineering and maintenance across luxury properties in Cyprus. You will drive preventive and corrective maintenance, ensure high safety and energy standards, and oversee HVAC/MEP systems to sustain guest experiences.

The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background, 7–10 years in hotel or large commercial maintenance, and proven leadership of engineering teams in complex properties.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a valid license.
• 7–10 years of engineering/maintenance experience in hotels or similar facilities.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC, refrigeration, MEP, electrical and building systems.
• Experience with preventive maintenance, energy management, and safety compliance.

Our client an expanding hotel group in the 4 and 5 star category, based in Cyprus, and focused on maintaining high standards across its properties through strong technical operations, reliable infrastructure, and well-managed engineering functions is looking for an experienced and qualified Chief engineer.

The role is suited to a senior engineering leader who can bring technical depth, operational oversight, and a practical approach to maintaining complex hospitality environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance activities across the property.
• Oversee MEP systems to support safe and efficient building operations.
• Manage HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Supervise electrical and mechanical installations.
• Provide leadership to the engineering team.
• Drive energy and utility management initiatives.
• Support renovation and refurbishment projects.
• Ensure health, safety, and technical compliance.

Required Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, along with a valid Mechanical Engineering License.
• 7-10 years of engineering or maintenance experience in hotels, resorts, facilities management companies, large commercial properties, or similar technical environments, including hotel or resort operations.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC and refrigeration systems, MEP systems, electrical installations, mechanical systems, and building maintenance systems.
• Strong background in preventive maintenance programs, energy management practices, and energy and utilities management.
• Knowledge of health and safety compliance requirements in building or hotel operations, with experience supporting renovation and refurbishment work.
• Experience working with Hotel General Managers and internal engineering teams.
• Business-fluent English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in complex and large hotel environments.
• An additional relevant engineering or technical certification.
• Business-fluent Greek though not essential would be a plus.
