Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to oversee and manage the operation and maintenance of specialized systems at a site, ensuring their optimal performance and integration within the facility. This involves coordinating the activities of technical teams, managing system operations, and addressing any issues that arise. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of specialized systems, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive operational excellence and compliance with industry standards.
Key Accountabilities
- Daily operation and maintenance of airport security systems, including both conventional and inline X-ray screening equipment.
- Develop and implement operational strategies and procedures for the management of specialized systems to meet facility requirements.
- Coordinate and manage the technical teams responsible for maintaining and operating specialized systems, providing guidance and support.
- Monitor system performance and conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve any issues or deficiencies promptly.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies in all operations related to specialized systems.
- Manage and prioritize maintenance schedules, including preventive and corrective actions, to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to coordinate system upgrades, repairs, and new installations.
- Prepare and manage budgets related to the maintenance and operation of specialized systems, ensuring cost control and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for specialized systems, including operational manuals, maintenance records, and compliance reports.
- Implement and oversee training programs for staff to ensure they are knowledgeable about the operation and maintenance of specialized systems.
- Address and resolve any technical issues or escalations related to specialized systems, providing effective solutions and recommendations.
- Manage the procurement of spare parts and equipment for specialized systems, maintaining an inventory of critical components.
- Ensure that all specialized systems are tested and inspected regularly to meet performance and safety standards.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on system performance, maintenance activities, and any operational challenges.
- Stay informed about advancements in specialized systems technology and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement.
- Abide by the Health, Safety, Energy and Quality, (HSEQ) policy, procedures necessary for the good conduct and safety of the workplace. It is a requirement and moral obligation of each employee to be actively committed and accountable to the compliance of Enova’s HSEQ policy, operating procedures, as well as being compliant to local legislation. The Employee shall seek clarification and guidance in specific cases or whenever one feels necessary.
Qualifications, Experiences, Skills
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field is required.
- Experience of at least 10 years in managing airport specialized systems or similar technical operations roles, with proven expertise in system maintenance and team management, is essential.
- Basic knowledge of specialized airport systems will be considered an advantage.
- Good understanding in preparing incident and technical reports
