Job summary

Sharjah Education Academy (SEA) and Sharjah Government Nurseries (SGN) seek a visionary Chancellor to lead institutional strategy, educational quality, and financial sustainability. The role involves engaging with boards, government bodies, accreditation entities, and international partners to advance Sharjah’s educational priorities.

The Chancellor will guide senior leadership, champion inclusion and safeguarding, and foster Emirati talent while strengthening SEA and SGN’s reputation and impact.

Qualifications

• PhD or EdD in Education, Educational Leadership, Business Administration, Management, or a related field from a recognised university.
• Minimum of 15 years of senior leadership experience in higher education or a complex education organisation.
• Proven record of delivering institutional strategy, educational quality, financial sustainability, and organisational development.
• Experience engaging with governing boards, government stakeholders, accreditation bodies, and national or international partners.
• Strong understanding of early childhood education, safeguarding, and inclusion; direct nursery or school network oversight is desirable.
• Proficiency in Arabic and English; UAE or GCC education sector experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the institutional strategy for SEA and SGN, setting priorities and measurable outcomes.
• Champion excellence in academic provision, professional learning, and research with emphasis on accreditation and continuous improvement.
• Provide strategic oversight of SGN focusing on high-quality early childhood education, safeguarding, and inclusion.
• Promote student success, educator capability, and children’s wellbeing across activities.
• Oversee financial sustainability and revenue diversification through programmes, research, consultancy, and partnerships.
• Collaborate with the President and Board to ensure governance, compliance, risk oversight, and accountability.
• Build partnerships with government, academia, and communities to represent SEA and SGN nationally and internationally.
• Lead and develop the senior leadership team to foster collaboration, innovation, and Emirati talent development.
