Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and audit the clearance procedures for restricted hazardous materials at all customs centers through the "Dhabi" system, in accordance with customs regulations and the lists of restricted materials issued by the competent authorities.
- Identify prohibited goods that are not allowed to be imported or exported based on the applicable Customs Law.
- Identify restricted goods whose import or export is subject to prior approval by the competent authorities, in accordance with the law and national regulations.
- Coordinate and maintain communication with restriction-related authorities such as the Armed Forces, the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation, and the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology.
- Coordinate daily with liaison officers at various customs centers to ensure effective follow-up of procedures related to hazardous materials.
- Review the audit results of incomplete transactions related to hazardous materials with liaison officers at customs centers and take the necessary corrective actions.
- Supervise the auditing and clearance processes of restricted hazardous materials through the "Dhabi" system.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of periodic reports, information, and analyses to the relevant authorities.
- Ensure the preparation and review of monthly reports on customs centers and submit them to the Section Head to ensure accuracy and follow up on any deviations from the centers or clearance companies at the end of each month.
- Coordinate with external liaison officers to maintain continuous communication with strategic partners (such as the Executive Office, the Federal Customs Authority, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, and others) for the swift and ongoing exchange of customs-related information.
- Follow up on the creation and continuous updating of a dedicated database for hazardous materials, and monitor related transactions across all centers to facilitate data retrieval and requests, and streamline the clearance process through the customs electronic system.
- Contribute to the preparation and individual analysis of monthly reports on the movement of restricted hazardous materials across all centers, based on records from the Dhabi system, for submission to the Section Head.
- Participate in organizing awareness and field training programs for customs inspectors in various centers to enhance their knowledge on handling hazardous and harmful materials, and the necessary safety and security measures for inspecting such materials.
- Respond to all inquiries from strategic partners and companies dealing with hazardous materials, providing comprehensive and complete answers.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as directed.
