Aventus, a pioneering digital financial services group in the United Arab Emirates, seeks a Chief Compliance Officer to lead the compliance function, strengthen regulatory governance and support responsible growth.

The role requires deep banking compliance experience, strategic oversight, and the ability to engage regulators, boards, and senior management to embed a culture of integrity and customer protection in a fast-evolving environment.

Qualifications

• 13+ years' experience in Compliance, with senior regulatory leadership in banking/financial services.
• Strong understanding of UAE regulatory environment and regulators (CBUAE).
• Experience advising Boards and senior management with independent challenge.
• Ability to embed compliance into business strategy and product development.

Responsibilities

• Lead Regulatory Compliance and Conduct framework with governance and conduct standards.
• Provide strategic compliance advice to CEO, Board and senior management.
• Engage regulators, lead inspections and regulatory change initiatives.
• Embed Compliance by Design across product, tech and commercial decisions.
• Oversee policies, procedures and governance frameworks across the organisation.
• Challenge conduct risk, consumer protection and broader regulatory matters.
• Coordinate with MLRO on AML/CFT, sanctions and anti-bribery controls.
• Identify regulatory risks and advise on mitigation for growth and innovation.
• Develop and mentor the compliance function and foster integrity culture.
