Job summary

Citi is seeking an experienced AML Compliance Officer to lead multiple teams and drive the strategic AML program across the UAE. You will design, implement, and monitor controls, engage regulators and internal audit, and ensure consistent risk management across entities.

The role requires 15+ years FinCrime experience, AML certification, exceptional communication, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across a matrix organization.

Qualifications

• 15+ years FinCrime experience, preferably UAE and/or Middle East region.
• AML certification.
• Prior work experience in a financial institution with AML work experience.
• Self-motivated and detail oriented.
• Proactive leadership and motivational skills.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced presentation skills and ability to articulate complex problems to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deliver, and maintain AML policies and practices; identify key money laundering risks and monitor mitigations through a robust control framework.
• Develop and improve Governance and Escalation framework for timely senior management updates.
• Establish a formal Feedback Channel with Businesses, Internal Audit and Compliance for root cause analysis and issue resolution.
• Review Manager Control Assessments and adjust strategies as needed.
• Liaise with regulators, Citi Internal Audit, and Compliance staff; coordinate AML-related examinations and responses.
• Provide training to business lines and AML staff; contribute to training design and delivery.
• Lead and manage a diverse team across multiple locations; develop staff for consistent execution.
• Assess risk in business decisions, uphold Citi's reputation, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
