Job Description

Job Title Chief Accountant

Reports To Group Accounting Manager

Full time (8 hours – 5 working days)

Monday to Friday (9:00 am to 6:00 pm)

Job Location: Dubai

Main Objective of the Role

The main objective of a Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the entire accounting department and ensuring the financial statements and records of the company are accurate and in compliance with international accounting standards, local regulatory requirements FTA,

Corporate Tax, and company policies. Preparing monthly financial statements and reports of ongoing restoration projects of vehicles/cars.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing all financial statements such as income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, bank reconciliation, KPIs whenever requested by the Group Accounting Manager.
  • Preparing car restoration level financial reports, management reporting or any other reports as requested by the Group Accounting Manager.
  • Preparing pro-forma invoices and tax invoices based on the approved quotations, following the standard operating procedures set. Also, whenever requested by the Group Accounting Manager for any deal(s) relating to a specific Client.
  • Recording all authorized payments (either in cash, card, cheque, transfer, etc.) that are issued and paid by the company, correctly in the approved accounting software and ensuring that payments have the tax invoice and associated supporting documentation is filed. All soft copies should be stored on our shared filing system (Dropbox).
  • Preparing monthly project estimates vs actuals as per the timelines approved by the Client in the Estimate duration period, submitting to the Group Accounting Manager and General Manager.
  • Liasing with banks for all transactions as requested by the Group Accounting Manager
  • Reconciling the company’s general ledger with estimated project budgets and submitting as per the timelines given by the Group Accounting Manager and/or General Manager.
  • Organizing and Maintaining permanent files related to finances for all vehicle projects, estimates, and Tax invoices. All soft copies should be stored on the shared filing system (Dropbox).
  • Preparing and Processing payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
  • Managing monthly cash requirements by projecting and maintaining cash flow projections for operational needs.
  • Liaising with the Clients of the company on the queries of Tax invoices, receipts, etc, in a professionally and efficiently.
  • Processing payroll according to standard procedures of the company, after receiving approval from the Group Human Resources Manager and General Manager.
  • Ensuring to review the Tax Invoices submitted of the material purchased with the Procurement department and comparing with the material requisition list.
  • Managing & recording the cash flow transactions of the company daily.
  • Managing and recording all the assets of the company purchased and ensuring a cross check of the condition and availability of the assets randomly.
  • Managing all tax related compliance and reporting to the Group Accounting Manager regarding the same.
  • Preparing VAT reports for VAT filing and submitting the same for review on time to the Group Accounting Manager.
  • Conducting VAT audits as when conducted by the FTA and sent to the Group Accounting Manager to be reviewed before submission.
  • Ensuring to close the financial books at the end of each year based on the approved timelines and managing the statutory Audit.
  • Ensuring to follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) set by the company.
  • Any other roles & responsibilities assigned by Group Accounting Manager and/or General Manager and/or Managing Director.

System skills, Licensing, Language, or Certification that are/could be helpful

  • Proficiency in Sage or other ERP solutions, FTA portal, Corporate Tax portal, etc.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of international accounting standards and local regulatory requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of 10 years of professional accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior accounting or financial management role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
  • Strong knowledge of the Automobile industry related to projects/restorations.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree is is a plus.
