Chief Accountant
Job Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities:
- Reviews and oversees balances with Client, Subcontractors, and Suppliers including payments in a timely manner, ensuring all approvals and disbursement of payments are in accordance with leadership approvals.
- Support the Managing Director in budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, and reporting.
- Identifies opportunities to optimize performance and implement performance measures to reach financial goals.
- Adept at managing the cash cycle in a construction company.
- Leads financial analysis to assist management in the evaluation of the profitability of income streams as well as the potential for cost efficiencies.
- Monitors revenues/expenses and ensures the accurate recording as per established guidelines.
- Investigates and critiques variances to plan or to prior year and offer practical improvement methodologies to management.
- Support in weekly/monthly/annual financial planning processes and external audit requirements.
- Establishes and continually audits all internal financial controls including purchasing and cash handling.
- Lead and coach the accounts team.
- Book Keeping in accordance with IFRS.
Personal Characteristics and Required Background:- Proficient in Excel is mandatory.
- Have exceptionally good English communication skills both in written and verbal form.
- Able to oversee and manage accounts team.
- Strong in cash flow management, reporting, and closing process.
- Willing to go the extra mile if needed during peak periods.
- Knowledge of IFRS accounting rules.
- Ability to make decisions in accordance with responsibilities.
- Must be highly effective in handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines, be results and detail-oriented.
- An analytical and strategic thinker, be a person of high integrity.
- Have exceptionally good problem-solving skills and have an ability to remain calm and composed during times of uncertainty and stress.
