Sales Representative – Petrochemicals / Chemical Trading • Location: Dubai
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sales Representative with strong exposure to physical petrochemical and chemical trading. The role involves managing commercial operations, developing profitable sales and trading opportunities, maintaining inventories, and supporting market development across regional and international markets. The ideal candidate combines commercial acumen, market analysis skills, and hands‑on experience in physical petrochemical products, working closely with trading, logistics, and operations teams to maximize value and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Trading:
- Manage and develop a profitable sales and trading portfolio through sound commercial strategies and disciplined position management
- Actively identify and pursue new trading and sales opportunities to support business growth
- Negotiate sales contracts, pricing, and commercial terms with clients
- Initiate and lead marketing and trading activities with third‑party suppliers to maximize margins
- Support physical and derivatives traders with market research and commercial insights
- Market Analysis & Reporting:
- Monitor market trends, supply & demand dynamics, pricing patterns, and product qualities in the global petrochemical industry
- Conduct quantitative, qualitative, and technical market analysis for crude oil, refined products, and petrochemicals
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly market reports for internal stakeholders
- Act as an internal technical and analytical reference across commercial teams
- Operations & Supply Chain:
- Administer internal purchasing, inventory, and logistics systems
- Maintain accurate inventory records at warehouses, including residues and surplus volumes
- Monitor order statuses and manage the full order cycle from purchase to delivery
- Work closely with logistics and operations teams to ensure efficient end‑to‑end execution
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers in line with company requirements
- Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure efficient communication across commercial, logistics, and operations functions
- Lead regional trading and sales activities and expand the company’s footprint in existing and new MENA markets
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in petrochemical or chemical trading and distribution
- Proven track record in physical petrochemical products trading, both regionally and internationally
- Prior experience as a Sales Representative in the chemical or petrochemical industry
Skills & Competencies
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret trends, data, and market signals
- Solid understanding of domestic and international petroleum and petrochemical markets
- Knowledge of refinery production, shipping documentation, logistics, and trade finance
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, and work under pressure
- Relationship‑oriented mindset with openness to feedback
Education & Language
- BS/BA in Chemistry or a related field is preferred but not mandatory
- Fluent English (spoken and written) is required
- Arabic is a strong advantage
