We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie to join our culinary team specializing in Asian cuisine. As CDP, you will manage a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., wok, dim sum, sushi, grill, noodles) and ensure high standards of preparation, presentation, and consistency across all dishes.
What you will be doing:
- Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions to improve the environment and menus.
- Ensure consistency in the preparation of all food items for a la carte and/or buffet menus according to property recipes and standards.
- Communicate effectively with the rest of the team and strive for guest feedback.
- Oversee food preparation and production for your assigned section.
- Ensure proper mise en place and maintain freshness and quality of all ingredients.
- Prepare dishes following traditional and modern Asian recipes with authenticity and flair.
- Collaborate with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to plan menus and specials.
- Train and supervise junior staff and commis chefs in your station.
- Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and safety regulations.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management.
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
- At least 2 years of experience as CDP for A la Carte Restaurants.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of guests.
- Expertise in Asian cuisine.
- Culinary education background and qualifications.
- Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong background in Asian cuisine e.g., Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Korean, or Southeast Asian.
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with traditional Asian cooking techniques (e.g., wok cooking, sushi rolling, steaming, fermentation).
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Team player with leadership potential and good communication skills.
