Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced chartering manager to join our shipping client in Dubai. This role focuses on Supramax and Panamax vessel segments, ensuring competitive freight pricing across key trade routes. The ideal candidate will have deep market knowledge of cargo flows, freight pricing, and tender processes in order to secure the right tonnage and optimize margins. The role primarily supports Agri trading, with exposure to various international origins and dry bulk commodities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze freight markets to provide traders with competitive pricing across Supramax and Panamax routes.
• Understand global grain flows and other dry bulk movements, optimizing logistics strategies.
• Price freight effectively to win tenders and secure optimal tonnage for cargo shipments.
• Work closely with shipowners, brokers, and operators to fix suitable vessels at competitive rates.
• Manage freight exposure, ensuring cost-effective and timely execution of shipments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, charterers, commodity traders, and logistics partners.
• Monitor global freight trends, bunker prices, port conditions, and trade regulations affecting dry bulk shipping.
• Oversee the execution of freight contracts, working with operations teams to ensure smooth loading and discharge.

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years in freight trading, chartering, or dry bulk shipping, specifically within Supramax and Panamax segments.
• Strong understanding of grains freight movements and other dry bulk commodities.
• Market Knowledge: Proven expertise in regional and global trade flows, pricing structures, and freight rate negotiations.
• Experience in structuring competitive freight bids to support commodity traders.
• Well-established relationships with shipowners, brokers, and key market players.
• Ability to assess freight economics, optimize cargo routing, and forecast rate fluctuations.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to execute profitable freight deals.
• Bachelor's degree in shipping, logistics, business, or a related field.
