Category Manager, Global Procurement Organization, Construction Professional Service

The Global Procurement Organization (GPO) is looking for an experienced Category Manager to develop strategies to ensure that we have Professional Service vendors available for our demanding construction projects across Europe and to ensure that we receive the best service available.

We are seeking a highly effective category buyer with Procurement experience to execute multi-country Procurement strategies and projects. The person in this role will coordinate with several teams across Amazon and will interact with our key vendors to satisfy organizational requirements. This role will partner with internal business owners and key stakeholders to manage Construction Professional Service spend like Project- and Cost Management, Design- and Health & Safety works for new build projects and fit-out upgrades. The position will work and partner with multiple teams to deliver savings, improve productivity, develop processes and scalability and execute category sourcing strategies.

Key job responsibilities

1. Execute category sourcing strategies across different Business Units and countries
2. Ensure reliable professional services are available for the Construction projects, interacting with suppliers and negotiating the most favorable Service Level agreements
3. Create, manage and communicate RFX documents, leading the tender process through to techno-commercial evaluation, post tender negotiation and contracting
4. Understand the technical requirements of our partners and work closely with the stakeholder teams to guide the direction of procurement activities
5. Strong negotiation skills and a track record of earning stakeholder trust, taking ownership and delivering results
6. Clearly communicate progress of all activities, their status and track actions
7. Standardize procurement processes, operational tools, operating standards, and supplier management activities
8. Analyze historic spend data to support strategy development, rate cards and catalogue adoption
9. Manage a number of projects simultaneously across various stakeholders while being able to manage priorities effectively to support and achieve on time delivery of requirements

About the team

Our team partners closely with Design & Construction, Engineering and Operations teams and support functions to identify, design and develop best-in-class category procurement strategy and procurement process to deliver operational excellency, providing additional revenue to the business through innovation and reducing total costs of ownership within Amazon supply chain.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent
2. 2+ years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain related work in a procurement organization experience
3. Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze large sets of data
4. High proficiency of English language
5. Data analysis capability and financial acumen

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Master's degree or equivalent
2. Project management skills
3. Ability to navigate project implementation involving various stakeholder, countries and Business Units
4. Experience working cross functionally with different internal and external seniority levels
5. Presentation and training skills
