Category Manager–Fresh Food (Butchery, Fishery, Cheese & Delicatessen)

• Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of high-quality fresh food items, negotiate favorable terms, resolve supply issues, and evaluate vendor performance to support category objectives.
• Demand Planning and Ordering: Analyze historical sales data, trends, and forecasts to plan stock levels and place timely and accurate orders to ensure product availability, reduce wastage, and maintain optimal stock rotation.
• Promotions and Offer Planning: Coordinate with suppliers and the Purchase Manager to develop and implement competitive promotional offers, special deals, and seasonal campaigns aimed at driving footfall and maximizing category sales and margin.
• Category Merchandising and Display: Oversee in-store merchandising standards for the fresh food sections, ensuring attractive, hygienic, and compliant displays aligned with promotional activity and consumer buying behavior.
• Team Supervision and Section Operations: Lead and coach the fresh food team to ensure effective day-to-day operations, adherence to hygiene and food safety standards, accurate pricing, and consistent customer service delivery across all counters.
• Sales Performance and Profitability Monitoring: Track and analyze sales performance, supplier contribution, gross margins, and shrinkage data to drive improvements in profitability and category growth, making adjustments in coordination with the Commercial and Operations teams.
