Job summary

Careem is hiring a Category Executive for the Ultrafresh groceries segment in the UAE. You will support assortment, sourcing, pricing, and promotions, collaborating with suppliers and the internal content and supply chain teams.

The role requires 2–3 years in Ultrafresh with strong Excel skills, a commercial mindset, and a keen eye for detail. The position offers hybrid work in Dubai with in-office and remote elements, plus health benefits.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in Ultrafresh, preferably retail/e-commerce.
• Strong understanding of UAE Ultrafresh market, supplier landscape, seasonality, quality standards.
• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets; data tools a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Category Manager in executing category strategies and pricing.
• Assist in sourcing and maintaining assortment for Ultrafresh.
• Coordinate with suppliers for product details, pricing, and promotions.
• Track category performance, stock, and flag risks or opportunities.
• Plan and execute weekly/monthly promotions with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Ensure accurate product listings on the app with content team.
• Liaise with supply chain for availability and onboarding of new SKUs.
• Conduct market research on trends and pricing benchmarks.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships for periodic reviews.

Within this fast-paced environment, the Category Management team is responsible for building the right assortment, pricing, and promotions that delight customers while driving business growth.

About The Role

As a Category Executive, you will support the grocery category team in managing assortment, sourcing, pricing, and promotions for the Ultrafresh category. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about the industry, has strong attention to detail, and is eager to grow their skills in category management and commercial operations.

What You'll Do

• Support the Category Manager in executing category strategies aligned with business goals.
• Assist in sourcing new products and maintaining the assortment for the Ultrafresh category.
• Coordinate with suppliers to gather product details, pricing, promotional offers, and manage day-to-day communication.
• Track performance of your category – including sales, pricing, and stock availability – and flag risks or opportunities.
• Help plan and execute weekly and monthly promotions in collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure accurate and timely listing of products, content, and images on the app in coordination with the content team.
• Liaise with the supply chain team to support availability, smooth onboarding of new SKUs, and replenishment cycles.
• Conduct market research to identify trends, new product opportunities, and benchmark pricing.
• Maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers and help prepare for periodic business reviews.

What You'll Need

• 2–3 years of experience in the Ultrafresh segment, preferably within a retail or quick/ e-commerce environment.
• Strong understanding of the Ultrafresh market in the UAE, including supplier landscape, seasonality, and quality standards.
• Strong communication and coordination skills, with a strong commercial mindset.
• Detail-oriented with solid organizational and time management abilities.
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with reporting and data tools is a plus.
• Strong analytical abilities and understanding of commercial KPIs and category performance metrics.
• Passion for grocery retail and a strong desire to build a career in category management.
• A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
