Job description

JOB TITLE
Category Associate Manager | MAF Global Solutions | Procurement

ROLE SUMMARY

The Category Associate Manager will be responsible for delivering and executing strategic sourcing and procurement processes, supporting all operating countries and Majid Al Futtaim Operating COs. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders, Category Managers, and Category Leads to develop and implement category strategies and plans that achieve goals and objectives, with a focus on driving improved and sustainable category value.

ROLE PROFILE
  1. Implement sourcing strategies on a project level, ensuring compliance with legal, internal policies, good practices, and business goals.
  2. Manage sourcing activities for new project development, achieving milestones and key timelines.
  3. Lead the procurement team and represent them in weekly meetings with internal business clients.
  4. Build strong relationships with clients.
  5. Monitor the workflow of procurement team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  6. Support the team in overcoming obstacles.
  7. Oversee cost reduction initiatives based on technical and commercial intelligence to improve costs.
  8. Analyze spend patterns, identify cost drivers, and explore opportunities for savings.
REQUIREMENTS
  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, finance, or a related field, depending on the categories managed, along with a professional procurement qualification (e.g., MCIPS).
  2. 5-6 years of experience in procurement or category management, including at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  3. Preferred experience in indirect procurement.
  4. Knowledge of SAP Ariba, Concur, Oracle, eRFx tools.
  5. Understanding of technology related to purchasing hardware, software, professional services, tools, and solutions.
  6. Strong negotiation and management skills to facilitate continuous improvement and cultural change, enabling effective plan implementation across the organization.
