Casualty Analytics Manager

The Opportunity:

The Casualty Analytics Manager will be responsible for strategy alignment, development, and execution within his product area. As a key member of the Product Analytics team, the Casualty Analytics Manager will work cross-functionally with senior stakeholders, underwriting, accumulation, reserving, capital management, performance and pricing to deliver profitable growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and business acumen, as well as the ability to coordinate and prioritize tasks.

  • Location: New York City, NY
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2-3 days a week in the office)
  • The salary range for this role is between $203,000 - $305,000

Your New Role:

  • Liaise with the Global Product Head to ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Support in advising on strategic issues and transformation processes.
  • Provide technical expertise and insights to support business decisions.
  • Lead product planning and prioritization efforts, balancing business goals and resource availability.
  • Ensure timely delivery of priorities with clear communication to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with underwriting, accumulation, reserving, capital management, performance and pricing to build a comprehensive knowledge of the product and sub-products.
  • Drive improvement in portfolio mix in collaboration with Portfolio Optimization.
  • Continuously gather insights from cedants, brokers, competitors, and industry trends to inform product decisions, identify new opportunities and threats.
  • Define and track key performance indicators to measure product profitability and risk / return balance.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate systems and procedures to enable portfolio optimization.
  • Oversee pricing assumptions, methods and tools to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Lead pricing reviews and identify business opportunities through ongoing monitoring

Work Experience:

  • Significant relevant work experience in reinsurance, general insurance, actuarial services, and corporate or consulting environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with clear written and verbal communication abilities.

Preferred Work Experience includes:

  • Experience working with senior management and professionals in the industry.
  • Extensive experience in the insurance industry involving data analysis, systems, and projects.
  • Management experience in the general insurance sector.
  • Experience in leading operational processes and providing technical analysis insights.
  • Familiarity with actuarial services and various types of insurance.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Relevant Actuary society certification, such as Fellow-Casualty Actuary Society (FCAS) or Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA).

Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate s professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE s annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.
