Job summary

Malabar Institute Of Medical Sciences in the United Arab Emirates seeks a full-time on-site Cast Technician to support wound care and limb immobilization services. You will work across Outpatient Clinic, Operating Theatre, Inpatient Units and Emergency Room, applying casts per physician orders and educating patients on cast care.

Responsibilities also include maintaining supplies, documenting care, and collaborating with the hospital team to ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Applies casts using plaster, synthetic materials and casting plastics per physician order.
• Shapes casts to maximize comfort and minimize pressure.
• Trims/remodels casts for fit using cast tools; enlarges as needed.
• Performs documentation and patient education related to casts.
• Casts for diabetic ulcers where applicable.
• Assists in Outpatient Clinic, Operating Theatre, Inpatient Units and Emergency Room.
• Applies prescribed casts, provides cast modification and patient instruction.
• Maintains cleaning, stocking and inventory of cast materials and related equipment.
• Communicates effectively with patients and hospital team; supports clinical operations.
