Responsibilities

• Assists orthopedic surgeons in outpatient, inpatient, and operating room procedures.
• Applies and changes casts; applies traction devices as directed.
• Reports significant patient condition changes to the RN immediately.
• Documents care and participates in using electronic medical records.
• Facilitates communication between patient, family, and care team.
• Maintains inventory of materials and supplies.
• Ensures a clean, safe environment minimizing risks.
• Provides health education and documents in patient records.
• Maintains safe unit environment and reports incidents.
• Complies with international and DOH patient safety goals.
• Completes required competencies and CME units per DOH requirements.
• Promotes practice environment reducing environmental health risks.
• Commits to ongoing learning and mentors team members.
• Applies ethical standards to protect patient rights.
