Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our Engineering team. You will maintain, repair and enhance hotel furniture, fixtures and wooden structures across guestrooms and public areas to meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repairs, furniture assembly and safe operation of woodworking tools. You will collaborate across departments to deliver a flawless guest experience while upholding safety and quality

Job Description:

A Carpenter at Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre, a Forbes Five-Star luxury hotel, supports the daily Engineering operations by maintaining, repairing and enhancing the hotels furniture, fixtures and wooden structures. The role ensures that all carpentry work across guestrooms, public areas, meeting spaces and back-of-house areas is completed to the highest standards, contributing to the hotels overall appearance, functionality and exceptional guest experience.

Responsibilities

What will I be doing? A Carpenter is responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective carpentry maintenance throughout the hotel, ensuring that all furniture, fixtures and wooden elements are maintained in excellent condition. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail and the ability to respond promptly to maintenance requests and operational requirements. Specifically, you will be responsible for:

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance and corrective repairs of hotel furniture, fixtures, wooden structures and fittings.
• Carry out general carpentry works, including furniture assembly, modification, installation, repair and replacement.
• Repair and replace damaged furniture, wall coverings, ceiling panels, gypsum boards, drywall and other carpentry-related elements.
• Design, construct, modify and assemble wooden components and furniture according to operational requirements.
• Operate woodworking machinery, power tools and electrical hand tools safely and effectively.
• Support maintenance activities across guestrooms, meeting rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas and Engineering facilities.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and breakdowns, identifying issues and providing appropriate solutions within the required timeframe.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean, safe and organised condition.
• Support Engineering projects, inspections and departmental initiatives as required.
• Follow all hotel, Hilton, Engineering, health and safety, fire and life safety procedures and standards.
• Maintain effective communication with colleagues and other departments to ensure timely completion of maintenance requests.
• Respond to and assist in building, equipment or systems emergency situations involving the Engineering and Maintenance department, as required.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Engineering Leaders.

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

• Previous experience within a luxury or Forbes Five-Star hotel environment.
