Job Purpose

In This Role You Will

• Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Manage day-to-day operations related to cargo handling activities.
• Report safety concerns openly and to the relevant supervisor.
• Comply with safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to maintain a safe work environment.
• Guide and assist the team of Loaders and Equipment Operators in cargo build-up, breakdown, acceptance, delivery, documentation, and handling of courier and mail in line with standards.
• Inspect and validate cargo against relevant documentation and counts at each point of delivery, acceptance, breakdown, and build-up to ensure conformity and proper dispatch.
• Enter data manually or automatically into cargo systems promptly.
• Coordinate efficiently with government authorities such as Customs, Municipality, Health, or Police to facilitate smooth cargo movement.
• Handle and load special cargo (dangerous goods, live animals, valuable goods) according to IATA manuals.
• Perform cargo handling activities and operate equipment (tow trucks, forklifts) as required for load movement.
• Load and unload cargo from ULDs, aircraft, and trucks promptly.

Qualifications

• O level (minimum of 10 years of schooling) or Higher Secondary (12 years schooling).
• At least 2 years of experience in logistics and cargo.
• Good written and spoken communication skills.
• Preferred cargo training certifications (e.g., Civil Aviation, Cargo Documentation, Dangerous Goods Handling, Airline Security, Ramp Safety, Cool Chain, Warehouse Safety).
• Valid license for operating cargo handling equipment.
• System knowledge of DACS+, CAMSYS.
