Job Description

Performs all pediatric echocardiography scans using advanced ultrasound equipment and is competent in transthoracic echocardiograms on complex congenital heart disease patients across fetal, pediatric, and adult populations.

Responsibilities

1. Patient preparation and education
2. Specialist in all pediatric echocardiography scans using advanced ultrasound equipment
3. Competent in transthoracic echocardiograms for complex congenital heart disease in fetal, pediatric, and adult populations
4. Ensure detailed findings are accurately documented and critical findings are reported promptly
5. Teach junior staff, fellows, and students as required
6. Observe hemodynamics, structural, and vascular cardiology investigations where applicable
7. Conduct cardiology investigations with proper management of haemodynamic, ultrasound, and mapping equipment where applicable
8. Show understanding or willingness to learn advanced imaging and recording techniques
9. Prepare and interpret reports for physician review and sign-off
10. Participate in departmental training, clinical audits, and improvement projects
11. Assist in developing team cohesiveness and align efforts to meet organizational goals for service excellence
12. Manage and utilize consumables efficiently (inventory management)
13. Calibrate and review equipment regularly, escalating defects per facility policy
14. Ensure meticulous and timely documentation and reporting within patient records
15. Promptly report and escalate all cardiac critical results

Qualifications

Experience Required: Not less than 3 years of relevant pediatric sonography experience
Licensing: Current National License

Educational Qualifications

BSc Degree: in Cardiovascular Program
Additional Training: Completion of an accredited echocardiography, ultrasound, or cardiopulmonary technology program
