Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Certification in Metrology or Calibration (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025) is highly desirable.
Proficiency in using calibration tools (Pressure, Temperature, Electrical and Mechanical Instruments).
Understanding of CNG Compression and Decompression and its systems.
Knowledge of regulatory standards (ISO, API, OIML, ANSI).
Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in calibration, preferably in oil & gas, petrochemical, or CNG Compression and Decompression.
Experience with high-pressure gas systems, flow meters, pressure transducers, and gas analyzers.
Familiarity with CNG dispensing stations, compressors, and pipeline instrumentation is a plus.
Experience in LOTO procedures and high-risk jobs.
Job Profile The Calibration Technician is responsible for maintaining the accuracy, reliability, and regulatory compliance of all measurement and control instruments utilized in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and high-pressure systems. Key responsibilities include conducting routine calibrations, maintaining detailed calibration records, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols. Responsibilities
Perform scheduled and ad-hoc calibration of pressure, temperature, flow, and gas composition measurement devices, vibration, and Gas Detector.
Ensure the accuracy and proper functioning of sensors, transmitters, and control systems through verification and testing procedures.
Record and analyze critical equipment data.
Perform rotating equipment critical instrument inspection and parameter record at plant.
Maintain, calibrate, and report malfunctioning instruments to ensure peak operational efficiency.
Ensure accurate documentation and management of calibration records and certificates in full compliance with ISO, API, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
Maintain detailed calibration records including test results, instrument history, out-of-tolerance conditions, and corrective actions.
Identify and resolve instrumentation deviations to maintain precise and reliable compliance.
Conduct root cause analysis to identify and address causes of calibration drift or equipment malfunctions.
Ensure all calibration activities meet local (UAE) and international standards (ISO 17025, 9001, API, etc.).
Ensure traceability of all calibrations to national or international standards (e.g., NIST).
Follow strict safety protocols while handling high-pressure CNG systems.
Participate in risk assessments and safety audits related to calibration.
Ensure all work complies with company HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies.
Recommend upgrades or modifications to improve calibration and instrument efficiency.
Stay updated with advancements in calibration technology and industry best practices.
Identify opportunities for process improvements in calibration workflows and measurement methods.
