Job description

Scope of Work:
To provide quality food presentation and service according to the hotel standard while maintaining good hygiene as per policy.
Job Responsibilities:
  1. Maintaining proper food temperatures for all food products in the cafeteria.
  2. Ensures the full menu throughout the opening times of the canteen, reporting missing items to the Executive Chef and the HR Director.
  3. Set up the food and beverage as well as utensils getting ready to serve on time.
  4. To assist with special events i.e. Iftar, National Days, etc.
  5. Keeps the tables, chairs, floors, etc., clean at all times.
  6. Removes the garbage according to policy and procedures.
  7. Accepts responsibility for multiple tasks including live cooking as required.
  8. To ensure that all outside guests dining in the canteen have prior approval and submit a meal voucher.
  9. Actively participates in energy saving and recycling initiatives.
  10. Ensure that the appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, uniform, and appearance are maintained at all times.
  11. Strictly adheres to the hotel’s Policy on Confidentiality and Ethics.
  12. Carry out any additional tasks and projects as requested by the Director of Human Resources or delegate.
Job Specification:
  • General knowledge of the practices used in receiving and storing food in large quantities.
  • General knowledge of cafeteria sanitation and safety measures used in food handling and in the operation, cleaning, and care of utensils, equipment, and work area.
  • General knowledge in computer applications; ability to prepare reports.
  • Must be organized and able to complete reports and documents in a timely manner.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Solid background in Food and Beverage.
  • Certificate/Diploma or Industry-Based Certifications.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a similar capacity within 5-star hotels.
  • Locally available in the UAE.
