Job summary

AECOM in the United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced CAD/GIS Specialist to develop, maintain and manage CAD drawings, GIS databases, and digital spatial information to support engineering design, construction supervision, and asset handover across infrastructure and urban development projects.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accuracy, integrity and consistency of engineering drawings and geospatial data throughout the project lifecycle, coordinating with authorities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Surveying, GIS, Geomatics, CAD Technology, or related field
  • 8–12 years of relevant experience in CAD and GIS for infrastructure or urban development projects
  • Experience supporting roads utilities drainage water sewerage electrical telecommunications irrigation and public realm projects
  • Experience preparing authority submissions as-built drawings, utility mapping and GIS asset databases
  • Familiarity with UAE infrastructure standards and authority requirements is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Prepare review and update engineering drawings in accordance with project standards specifications and client requirements
  • Maintain drawing registers and ensure proper revision control throughout the project lifecycle
  • Coordinate with civil utilities structural landscape and other engineering disciplines to produce coordinated construction and as-built drawings
  • Verify drawing accuracy, completeness and compliance before submission to clients and regulatory authorities
  • Support engineering teams by preparing detailed plans profiles sections and construction details
  • Develop maintain and update GIS databases for roads utilities drainage public realm and other infrastructure assets
  • Integrate survey data utility records as-built information and spatial datasets into GIS platforms
  • Produce thematic maps utility layouts spatial analyses and digital mapping products to support engineering planning and stakeholder coordination
  • Ensure the integrity accuracy and consistency of geospatial information throughout project delivery
  • Manage coordinate systems spatial referencing and GIS data standards
  • Prepare utility conflict drawings interface plans and authority submission drawings
  • Support utility coordination by integrating records from multiple utility authorities into a unified GIS environment
  • Prepare CAD and GIS documentation required for NOCs permits and stakeholder approvals
  • Coordinate with utility authorities contractors consultants and project stakeholders to resolve spatial and utility conflicts
  • Update construction progress drawings and maintain accurate as-built documentation
  • Support testing commissioning and final asset handover by preparing GIS asset databases and CAD deliverables
  • Coordinate with survey teams to validate completed works utility locations and asset records
  • Ensure all final deliverables comply with client and authority requirements
  • Maintain electronic drawing libraries GIS databases and digital project records
  • Generate maps layouts graphical presentations and reports for project management and client submissions
  • Ensure compliance with document control procedures and digital data management standards

Job description

We are seeking an experienced CAD / GIS Specialist with experience in infrastructure and urban development projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing maintaining and managing CAD drawings GIS databases utility mapping and digital spatial information to support engineering design construction supervision stakeholder coordination and asset handover. The role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the accuracy integrity and consistency of engineering drawings and geospatial data throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

CAD & Engineering Drawing Management

  • Prepare review and update engineering drawings in accordance with project standards specifications and client requirements.
  • Maintain drawing registers and ensure proper revision control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with civil utilities structural landscape and other engineering disciplines to produce coordinated construction and as-built drawings.

Qualifications :

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or Diploma in one of the following disciplines: Civil Engineering / Surveying /Geographic Information Systems (GIS) /Geomatics /CAD Technology Or a related engineering discipline

Experience

  • 812 years of relevant experience in CAD and GIS for infrastructure or urban development projects.
  • Proven experience supporting roads utilities drainage water sewerage electrical telecommunications irrigation and public realm projects.
  • Experience preparing authority submissions as-built drawings utility mapping and GIS asset databases.
  • Familiarity with UAE infrastructure standards and authority requirements is highly desirable.
