The Toy’s Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing toys from local distributors, managing inventory levels, driving business, and ensuring the timely delivery of products. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement, strong negotiation skills, and a passion for the toy industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales KPIs: Work within the allocated budget for toy business (sell thru & margins).
- Sourcing and Purchasing: Identify and engage with local distributors to source high-quality toys that align with our brand’s standards and customer preferences. Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to secure the best deals.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to ensure that we have adequate stock to meet demand without overstocking. Work closely with the planning team to manage stock and forecast future needs.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with local distributors and suppliers. Address any issues related to product quality, delivery, or returns promptly and professionally.
- Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, emerging toy trends, and competitor activities. Use this information to make informed purchasing decisions and keep our product offerings fresh and relevant.
- Order Processing: Oversee the order process from placement to delivery, ensuring that all orders are completed accurately and on time. Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to track shipments and resolve any delivery issues.
- Budget Management: Work within the allocated budget for toy procurement. Monitor and report on spending, ensuring that purchases are made cost-effectively while maintaining quality standards.
- Reporting and Analysis: Analyze sales data and inventory reports to assess product performance and make recommendations for future purchases. Provide regular reports to management on purchasing activities and market trends.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in the toy industry.
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
