Role Overview:

As a Buyer for MFBA, you will lead the buying strategy for the men’s footwear, bags, and accessories categories. This role is ideal for someone with a strong commercial mindset, trend awareness, and deep understanding of the male customer in the Middle East. You'll play a crucial role in shaping our product assortment, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring the category delivers on both style and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Management: Own and grow the MFBA category by building an on-trend, regionally relevant product mix that meets both customer demand and commercial objectives.
  • Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain strong supplier partnerships. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and exclusivity where applicable.
  • Product Selection: Source and select compelling products aligned with emerging trends and customer preferences in men’s fashion, footwear, bags, and accessories.
  • Forecasting & Planning: Collaborate closely with Planning and Merchandising to forecast sales, manage inventory levels, and ensure timely replenishment.
  • Pricing & Promotion: Develop competitive pricing strategies and plan promotional activities to drive category performance and conversion.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify opportunities and challenges, and adjust buying strategies accordingly.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing, Content, Operations, and Visual Merchandising to ensure successful product launches and campaigns.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze sales and category data to evaluate product success, identify growth areas, and optimize future buys.
  • Trend Forecasting: Stay ahead of the curve by tracking global and regional trends in men’s fashion, especially within footwear, bags, and accessories.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or category management — ideally in menswear, footwear, or accessories.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Business, or a related field.
  • Regional Knowledge: Strong awareness of Middle Eastern market trends and male consumer behavior.
  • Analytical Skills: Able to interpret data, forecast sales, and make informed buying decisions.
  • Negotiation: Proven ability to secure favorable terms with suppliers and manage vendor performance.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Organization: Highly detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficient in Excel, reporting tools, and buying-related systems.
