Job Overview

The Home Category Buyer is responsible for curating and managing a compelling assortment of home and lifestyle products across multiple brands to meet the evolving tastes of Ounass customers. This role drives the end-to-end buying process—from market research and seasonal planning to vendor management and product performance analysis—ensuring alignment with commercial goals, brand identity, and customer demand. The buyer will play a key role in optimizing sell-through, supporting marketing initiatives, and contributing to the overall growth of the Home category on the Ounass platform.

What you'll be doing?

  • Analyze market trends, consumer preferences, seasonal patterns, and sell-through performance specific to the Home category to develop a strategic buying plan aligned with customer expectations and Ounass’ positioning.
  • Curate and manage a well-balanced assortment of home décor, furniture, and lifestyle products across multiple brands, ensuring relevance, variety, and exclusivity where possible.
  • Plan and select the range, type, quality, and quantity of merchandise based on consumer insights, trend forecasting, and historical data—setting pricing and sell-through targets in line with budget and margin goals.
  • Work closely with the Head of Buying andSenior Buyerto ensure seasonal buying decisions are data-informed and commercially viable.
  • Manage the full buying cycle for all home-related brands, from initial selection to final markdowns, ensuring a smooth and profitable end-to-end process.
  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with brand partners and suppliers, ensuring compliance with commercial agreements and service-level expectations.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, exclusivities, support packages, and training with vendors to maximize Ounass’ competitive advantage and margin potential.
  • Monitor brand performance, review buying feedback reports, and conduct weekly sales analysis to propose buying adjustments and liquidation strategies when needed.
  • Collaborate with the planning and allocation teams to ensure optimal stock levels, efficient replenishment, and appropriate SKU productivity across all regional markets.
  • Partner with the Trade, Editorial, PR, and Marketing teams to ensure home products are visually and commercially represented in campaigns, homepage features, and promotional events.
  • Contribute to seasonal content planning by recommending trend-forward or high-performing home items for editorial features and influencer seeding.
  • Conduct regular virtual and physical store visits across relevant markets to assess brand performance, product presentation, and competitor activity within the home and lifestyle space.
  • Stay informed on emerging home & interior design trends, sustainability practices, and regional customer preferences to influence future buys and assortments.
  • Liaise with vendors to organize product knowledge training and workshops for internal teams to ensure a high level of expertise across all customer touchpoints.
  • Prepare and deliver seasonal home trends and product training for internal stakeholders, including customer service and stylist teams.
  • Lead, coach, and support direct reports (if applicable) to meet performance objectives, encourage continuous development, and build a high-performing buying team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, creativity, and collaboration within the team.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Luxury Brand Management, Buying or a related field
  • 5-6 years of experience in multi-brand buying,preferably within the eCommerce sector or luxury environment
  • Prior exposure to data-driven buying decisions and working closely with planning and merchandising functions
  • Stronganalytical skills – able to interpret sales data, sell-through, and consumer trends to guide buying decisions
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills with suppliers and brand partners
  • Commercial acumen with an understanding of margins, pricing strategies, and profitability drivers
  • High level of trend awareness and ability to identify and react to emerging design and interior trends
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with buying/planning tools or systems
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • A passion for home décor, interior styling, and design-led brands
