JOB TITLE

Buyer | MAF LifeStyle | Hollister

Role Summary

The Buyer will be responsible for implementing the buy strategy for the assigned brand and building a product assortment that meets customer needs, and drives the growth of the Majid Al Futtaim Lifestyle business. The Buyer will support the General Manager Merchandising in highlighting short and long-term strategic approaches, future growth opportunities, and areas of risk for the business with regards to product ranging, allocation, inventory, brand perception, pricing, and margin.

ROLE PROFILE

  • Formulate a suitable buy strategy and plan in line with Brand and Majid Al Futtaim Lifestyle guidelines.
  • Purchase commercial and profitable product ranges to maximize profitability and sales.
  • Control all aspects of stock to minimize loss of sales and balance product mix through consistent and rigorous in season analyses.
  • Negotiate product pricing, cost of shipment, payment terms, and intake margin with local vendors, taking into consideration business and cost effectiveness as the main consideration.
  • Monitor brand performance, initiating corrective action where necessary to ensure operations are conducted within the agreed financial parameters.
  • Deeply understand brand perception, product feedback, and product requests by regularly visiting stores and interacting with the store teams.
  • Nurture a strong working relationship with the Planning, Finance, Digital, Logistics, and Operations teams to drive common business goals.

Requirements

  • A Bachelors’ Degree, preferably in Business Management, Marketing or related field.
  • Qualification in Retail Management.
  • 3-4 years of experience in a Buying and Merchandising role.
  • Fashion retail background is mandatory.
