Job summary

Bombardier Aerospace Abu Dhabi is seeking a Buyer to manage parts procurement for aircraft maintenance and support. The role focuses on planning, sourcing, and expediting parts and materials to ensure on-time service delivery.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years in aviation/materials, SAP experience, and strong organizational and communication skills. Relocation to Abu Dhabi is required, UAE nationals encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Business, Inventory Management or related area is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in aviation or material/parts environment or equivalent experience.
• Strong planning and organizational skills to coordinate workload across multiple projects.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work with sales, owners, and other departments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely acquisition of parts and materials by planning and forecasting requirements and coordinating with suppliers.
• Locate and initiate purchase of materials, tools and components through internal and external sources.
• Expedite status of orders and purchase orders via supplier communications and inter-company operations.
• Identify critical paths and set priorities for material availability.
• Attend department meetings and interface with Supervisors/Managers on material issues.
• Maintain shortage reports and communicate status to management.
• Create internal orders and other documents to meet parts/material needs.
• Adjust discrepant orders/exception messages and cancel items not received or returned to stock.
• Create new part numbers for site-specific parts and send requests to internal suppliers.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized and manual systems.
• Order/reorder materials, tools, and ground support equipment per aircraft delivery schedules.
• Identify alternate and superseded part numbers.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Ensure the timely acquisition of parts and materials needed to service customer aircraft by planning and forecasting part and material requirements and coordinating acquisition with internal and external suppliers and materials personnel
• You will locate and initiate the purchase of materials, tools and components via communication with internal and external sources and suppliers
• You will expedite status of external and internal parts orders and purchase orders via communication with suppliers and inter-company operations
• You will identify and schedule critical paths and assign priorities
• You will attend meetings representing the department
• You will interface with Supervisors and Managers or other departments on critical material problems
• You will maintain shortage reports to track orders and communicate status to management
• You will create and issue internal orders and other applicable documents to meet parts and materials requirements
• You will provide information to adjust discrepant orders/exception messages and cancel line items not received or returned to stock as needed
• You will create new part numbers for site-specific parts used and send part number requests to internal suppliers
• You will maintain accurate inventory of transactions using computerized inventory and manual filing systems
• You will order and/or reorder materials, tools, and ground support equipment with regard to aircraft delivery schedules as required
• You will identify alternate and superseded part numbers

How to thrive in this role?

• You would typically have 5 years of experience in aviation or material/parts environment or other demonstrated equivalent experience
• You have training & equivalent experience with SAP system
• You have planning and organizational skills necessary to prioritize and coordinate workload within a multiple project setting
• You have interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective working relationships with sales team, owners, outside counsel, and other departments
• You are proficient with Microsoft Office
• You would typically have 5-year experience in inventory planning and procurement (preferred)
• You would typically have 5 or more years’ experience in inventory forecasting and analysis (preferred)
• You have a bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Business, Inventory Management or related area (preferred)
