Business/Energy Reporter

Role Summary:

We're looking for an experienced Business / Energy Reporter to join our dynamic newsroom. In this role, you will deliver in-depth coverage of the energy sector, focusing on oil, gas, renewables, and energy transition trends. You’ll provide insightful analysis on energy markets, geoeconomics, and the political forces shaping the industry, with a particular focus on the Middle East.

Key Responsibilities:

• Report on major energy developments, including policy shifts, corporate strategies, and geopolitical influences.
• Deliver high-impact stories, analysis, and features on oil, gas, renewables, and energy transitions.
• Provide real-time coverage of breaking news and market-moving events.
• Conduct in-depth interviews with industry leaders, policymakers, and analysts.
• Cover industry events, conferences, and summits across the region.
• Write general business news reports in addition to energy-focused coverage.
• Create engaging content for social media, including visuals and data-driven reports.

Key Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Economics, Communications, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in business, financial, or energy reporting, preferably in the Middle East.
• Strong understanding of global energy markets, commodity trading, and geoeconomics.
• Excellent writing and reporting skills with the ability to simplify complex topics.
• Established industry contacts and a track record of breaking exclusive stories.
• Experience with multimedia storytelling, data visualization, or social media is a plus.
• Fluency in English is essential; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.

The successful candidate will report to the Business Editor and work within a busy team in our vibrant newsroom.
