Job Description

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving sales growth, developing & maintaining key customer relationships, and expanding the market presence for Drilltech Oilfield Equipment Manufacturing & Services - UAE.

The ideal candidate shall have experience in Oil & Gas Manufacturing, familiar with major Oil & Gas.

API - Downhole products not limited to drilling / fishing tools, well construction, well completions, well heads, values other equipment’s.

ASME – Pressure vessels, heat exchangers, Pipe spools, pressure vessels, process equipment, steel structures, skids, baskets, tanks, silos, batch blenders and other fabricated equipment.

This role requires strong Industry connections with major oil & gas service companies combines both commercial & technical expertise, overseeing strategic revenue execution, YOY organization growth plans.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Identify, evaluate, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the upstream / downstream oil & gas sector.
  • Strong negotiation skills, Develop and execute sales strategies to meet growth targets.
  • Work with technical teams, assisting and preparing technical commercial proposals in response to RFQ’s, customer enquiries, tenders, and direct sales inquiries.
  • Responsible for building relations, developing of a new customer base and products to ensure constant order flow for manufacturing industry professionals, customers, contractors.
  • Provide customized solutions for tenders, prepare and deliver technical presentations to potential customers.
  • Ability to generate leads and drive sales in a competitive market to meet delivery needs.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms in alignment with company objectives.
  • Planning to ensure on time product delivery to customer orders.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and customer requirements to prepare cost estimates and prove competitive pricing.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing / machining process, calculating material, labor, and overhead costs.
  • Monitor, reporting to management, regarding business growth, forecasting and achieving revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to customize solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Work with engineering and procurement teams to source accurate pricing for raw materials and outsourced components.
  • Develop detailed and competitive quotations while ensuring profitability.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to verify adherence to industry codes and customer requirements.
  • Work closely with production, procurement, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth execution of awarded projects.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve any technical or commercial issues during project execution.
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory standards, prepare procedures related to contracts and long-term pricing agreements where required.
  • Set departmental KPI’s and focus on driving continuous improvement and optimization of business development practices.

Customer Relationship / Engagement Management

  • Establish strong relationships with key decision-makers with all the direct and indirect customers, companies, contractors, and oilfield service providers.
  • Conduct regular customer meetings, site visits, and participate in contract finalization.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for strategic accounts and key projects.
  • Accommodate customer visits and updated company profiles.

Market Research & Strategy

  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new product opportunities.
  • Prepare market intelligence reports and contribute to strategic planning sessions.
  • Monitor global/regional energy projects, drilling programs, and rig activity to position the company early in the project cycle.
  • Marketing and Advertising Strategies / Business Planning Technology / Research & Development
  • Prepare and present monthly / quarterly / annual Operating Sales Plan to Senior Management.
  • Knowledge of middle east oil & gas upstream, downstream markets.
  • Proficiency in communicating, Read, Write, Speak – In English is essential. Arabic would be value added.

Internal Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Use CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to manage the sales pipeline, leads, opportunities, and forecast revenue.
  • Report weekly/monthly on KPIs, sales performance, and customer activity.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering / business administration / marketingor a related field. MBA in marketing /business/sales will be an advantage.

Experience:

  • 7 – 10 years of experience in technical sales / business development in the oil & gas manufacturing industry mandatory within UAE / GCC markets.
  • Other industries like Aerospace / Defense / Medical industries will be added advantage.
  • Strong background in well construction and/or completion tool manufacturing.
  • Ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships & customer relationships.
  • Prior experience dealing with customer management for major Oil & Gas service companies.
  • Deep understanding of drilling and completions operations and products.
  • NPD & Knowledge of CNC machining, process will be added advantage.
  • Familiarity with API / ASME standards (e.g., API 5CT, 7-1, 6A, 16A, 16C, 10D, AMSE U,S,PP).
  • Proficient in CRM and ERP systems (Salesforce, SAP, Oracle, JDE, Odoo).
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, well schematics, and spec sheets.
  • Entrepreneurial, organizational growth mindset and strong business acumen.
  • High level of self-motivation and ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (Domestic & GCC).
