Job description

Carl Zeiss Vision, a global leading and innovative foundation in optical lens and diagnostic optical instrument business, is seeking an experienced Business Development Representative to service optometrists and opticians in East Africa. The applicant will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver growth by regularly visiting existing customers in East Africa.
  • Prospect, open, and develop new accounts within East Africa.
  • Present new and current products.
  • Support the customer with product sales and order process training.
  • Initiate and support marketing promotions of the customers to ensure brand visibility and sales.
  • Work in the field with customers in their own outlets to improve sales processes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and partner with customers.
  • Ability to actively close sales.
  • Utilize reports and presentations to effectively manage the customer relationship.
  • Support the customers with registration of instruments and lenses.
  • Report on a regular basis to the Regional Sales Manager.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to digest, comprehend, and verbalize highly technical products.
  • Demonstrated professional sales skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English and interpersonal skills; French and Swahili are a plus.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills.
  • Good knowledge of the optical business.
  • Must be willing and able to travel in East Africa with hotel stays on a regular basis.
  • A driver's license is a plus.

Education

  • Experienced (minimum 5 years) Sales agent in the optical field, optometrist, or optician.
