A leading company in facility management is seeking a Business Development Officer in Abu Dhabi. Job Purpose:
The Business Development (BD) Officer plays a critical role in driving the company's growth by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities in the facility management sector. This position involves market research, lead generation, client relationship management, and collaboration with internal teams to create tailored service proposals. The BD Officer is responsible for expanding the company's client base, enhancing brand visibility, and ensuring revenue growth through strategic partnerships, tenders, and business negotiations. Additionally, they support the development of competitive pricing strategies and maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to position the company effectively in the market
Key Accountabilities
Business Development & Sales
Identify and develop new business opportunities in the facility management sector, including hard and soft FM services. Generate leads, prospect new clients, and secure contracts for facility management services. Develop and execute strategic sales and business growth plans to achieve revenue and market share targets. Prepare and present customized proposals, bids, and tenders to potential clients. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements while ensuring profitability and alignment with company objectives. Maintain a strong sales pipeline and conversion rate to support business growth.
Market Research & Competitive Analysis
Conduct in-depth market research to identify new business trends, emerging technologies, and client demands in the facility management industry. Analyze competitor offerings, service standards, and pricing strategies to position the company competitively. Monitor industry regulations, market developments, and economic trends that may impact business opportunities. Identify niche markets and potential areas for service expansion and innovation
Client Relationship Management
Build and nurture strong relationships with existing and potential clients to enhance customer retention and satisfaction. Conduct regular client meetings to understand their facility management needs and expectations. Address client concerns, provide timely solutions, and ensure service quality meets contractual obligations. Serve as the main point of contact for key accounts and strategic clients, ensuring high levels of engagement and satisfaction.
Collaboration & Proposal Development
Work closely with internal departments (operations, finance, procurement, and legal) to develop tailored service solutions. Assist in preparing business proposals, capability statements, presentations, and marketing materials. Ensure proposals and bids align with the company's operational capabilities, financial targets, and client requirements. Coordinate with procurement and vendor management teams to ensure cost-effective service delivery.
Reporting & Performance Tracking
Track sales performance, business development activities, and revenue generation through detailed reports and CRM systems. Provide regular updates to senior management on business performance, sales forecasts, and market trends. Analyze business development efforts, assess return on investment (ROI), and recommend improvements to sales strategies. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure business development activities align with company goals
Tendering & Bidding Process
Identify and evaluate relevant tenders and RFPs (Request for Proposals) in the facility management sector. Develop competitive tender responses in coordination with the bid management team. Prepare technical and financial proposals in compliance with client requirements and industry standards. Ensure timely submission of tenders, track bid progress, and follow up on potential contract awards. Establish relationships with procurement departments of potential clients to improve tender success rates
Brand Development & Networking
Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and business networking events. Build partnerships with key stakeholders, suppliers, real estate developers, and government entities to enhance business opportunities. Promote the company’s services through presentations, online platforms, and direct engagement with decision-makers. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns for lead generation and brand positioning.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure all business development activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements. Identify and mitigate potential risks in contracts, partnerships, and client engagements. Work with the legal and finance teams to review contract terms and ensure financial and operational viability.
Expansion & Diversification
Identify opportunities to expand facility management services into new sectors, such as healthcare, hospitality, retail, and government contracts. Develop strategies to introduce new service offerings, including technology-driven solutions like smart building management and sustainability initiatives. Explore potential partnerships, mergers, or acquisitions that align with the company’s growth objectives.
Customer Feedback & Service
Enhancement Collect and analyze client feedback to enhance service offerings and customer experience. Recommend improvements in service delivery based on client needs and industry best practices. Work with operations teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high service standards.
Education, Experience and Skills
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (Required) A degree in one of the following fields is typically required: Business Administration
Experience:
3 to 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the facility management industry or related sectors such as real estate, construction, or building maintenance. Proven track record of lead generation, client acquisition, and contract negotiation in a B2B environment.
