Overview
Our client, a regulated electronic money institution (EMI), is committed to modernizing digital payments and driving financial inclusion in Malta and beyond. They are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive B2B growth by building partnerships with merchants, fintech platforms, and payment service providers.
Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Client Acquisition: Identify and engage prospective partners—such as e-commerce businesses, fintech apps, PSPs, and SMEs—to adopt the client’s EMI solutions.
- Full Sales Cycle Management: Manage the end-to-end sales process: outreach, presentations, negotiations, contracting, and closing deals. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospects.
- Solution Presentations & Consultative Selling: Deliver compelling demos of the client’s offerings—electronic wallets, e-money accounts, payment processing, and digital distribution of e-money—tailored to partner needs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, compliance, and marketing teams to relay partner feedback, shape product development, ensure regulatory alignment, and refine go-to-market messaging.
- Market Intelligence & Industry Outreach: Stay ahead of fintech and payments trends as well as regulatory developments. Represent the client at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
- Strategic Process Improvement: Continuously refine sales strategies and processes to enhance efficiency and improve the partner experience.
Candidate Profile
- At least 3 years in business development or B2B sales—ideally within the online gambling, crypto, forex, fintech, high risk industries
- Hunter Mentality & Accountability: Proactive and results-driven, with ownership across the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing
- Adaptability & Market Awareness: Able to adjust strategies quickly in response to market and regulatory changes
- Communication & Relationship Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including digital and in-person presentations; confident engaging senior stakeholders
- Regulatory Insight (Desirable but Not Mandatory): Familiarity with EMI regulations—especially in Malta—or experience working in compliance-focused sales environments.
