Job description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Business Developer to lead the commercial expansion of our portfolio of pharmaceutical molecules and breakthrough technologies. The candidate will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, securing licensing deals, building strategic partnerships, and interfacing with CROs to support the drug development life-cycle.

Description

  1. Identify and develop new business opportunities related to pharmaceutical molecules, both for licensing out and exclusive partnerships.
  2. Build, manage, and maintain high-level relationships with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, investors, and research institutions.
  3. Act as the primary commercial liaison between our company and CROs to ensure the alignment of business goals and development timelines.
  4. Lead and negotiate licensing agreements, strategic alliances, and joint ventures.
  5. Translate technical and scientific insights from our R&D team into compelling commercial value propositions.
  6. Analyze industry trends, competitive intelligence, and market needs to refine our go-to-market strategy.
  7. Represent the company at international pharma and biotech events, conferences, and trade fairs.
  8. Contribute to strategic planning and commercialization of proprietary pharmaceutical assets.

Job Offer

Competitive base salary + performance-based variable. Success fees or bonus tied to deals closed and molecules licensed. Equity options may be considered for top-tier candidates.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Proven track record (5+ years) in business development or licensing within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  2. Strong experience in interacting and negotiating with CROs and understanding their operational frameworks.
  3. In-depth understanding of pharmaceutical development processes, regulatory pathways, and IP strategy.
  4. Excellent negotiation, deal structuring, and contract management skills.
  5. Solid network within the pharma, biotech, and/or healthtech ecosystems.
  6. Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
  7. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  8. Fluent in English (written and spoken); other languages are a plus (especially Chinese, Arabic, or German).

Education:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences (Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, etc.)
  2. MBA or specialized postgraduate training in pharmaceutical business or health economics is a plus.
