GEMS World Academy–Dubai (GWA) invites passionate educators to join our Business & Economics department. Located in the heart of Dubai, we are an IB World School delivering PYP, MYP, DP and CP programmes with a strong focus on inquiry, collaboration, and student well‑being.

The role will involve teaching Secondary Business within an IB framework, collaborating with experienced colleagues, and contributing to excellent learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education or equivalent required.
• PGCE/PGDE or equivalent specialization in Business preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience teaching Secondary Business, ideally IB.
• Strong understanding of IB DP framework and Approaches to Teaching.
• Committed to ongoing professional development and high teaching standards.

Skills Description

The ideal candidate should have a strong track record in effective teaching and helping students succeed. While experience in teaching the IB Middle Years Programmes & Diploma Programmes is preferred, outstanding teachers from any curriculum background are encouraged to apply. Alignment with the IB philosophy and commitment to the Learner Profile values are crucial. A genuine passion for working in a non-selective and culturally diverse community is also a key requirement. Additionally, the candidate should possess:

• A Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree plus a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE or equivalent specialism in Business
• Advanced qualifications are preferred but not essential
• A minimum of 3 years experience teaching Secondary Business, ideally within an IB curriculum school, however, this is not mandatory
• A strong understanding of the IB DP framework and Approaches to Teaching is preferred
• A strong desire to continually improve their practice and deliver outstanding teaching and learning experiences for their students
• The experience, personality and educational philosophy that aligns with a leading IB World School like GEMS World Academy
• Available to start immediately
