About The Role

The Bridges skill group, part of the Transportation Business (People & Places), is committed to delivering major bridge schemes throughout the Middle East. We are seeking high-caliber professionals to join our expanding team of bridge engineers working on high-profile projects, including long-span crossings, international bridges, architecturally led bridge designs, design and build schemes, and local authority commissions.

We have a vacancy for an entry-level design engineer to work with our bridge teams based in the UAE. The team provides technical support for all major projects in the Middle East, closely connected with our global delivery center, with a strong track record of successful project delivery through work sharing. The successful candidate will contribute technical design inputs and manage elements of project delivery.

Job Responsibilities

• Contribute to delivering bridge projects on time, within budget, and meeting quality and client requirements.
• Collaborate with team members to develop technical solutions.
• Deliver sound design solutions that meet client specifications.
• Ensure compliance with management and quality systems at all levels.
• Produce bridge structure models and calculations under the guidance of Senior Bridge Engineers.
• Liaise with the BIM team to develop bridge structural models.

Qualifications and Skills

• A relevant degree in Civil/Structural Engineering; a Master’s degree in structures is preferred.
• Proven academic excellence and outstanding academic performance.
• Strong drive and determination with a commitment to personal and professional growth.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills for diverse environments.
• Proficiency in structural modeling software/tools (MIDAS, RM, Structural Bridge Design) and BIM.
• Good knowledge of Euro codes, DMRB, and AASHTO standards.
• Flexibility to undertake short-term assignments in GCC countries is preferred.
• An approachable team player who strives to inspire and assist others.
• Tenacity, drive, and determination.
• Good communication skills.
• Progressing towards membership or accreditation of an appropriate engineering council or body.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience.
• Based in Dubai or willing to relocate to Dubai.
• Bi-lingual capabilities.
