Job Description:

BIM Modeling Technician

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for a talented BIM Modeling Technician (Utilities) to join our team! In this role, you will create detailed documented records and maintain them to ensure clarity of the process and outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Support the Design and Project Delivery Teams in day-to-day BIM implementation activities.
2. Collaborate with the BIM Manager on design changes and model challenges.
3. Develop Civil3D Templates, pipe parts, structures, and smart blocks.
4. Create alignments, profiles, pipe networks (pressure and gravity), and be familiar with data shortcuts.
5. Develop production templates and title blocks.
6. Perform cut & fill analysis and extract quantities from models.
7. Support setup, development, and configuration of the Common Data Environment (CDE).
8. Act as gatekeeper for CDE (Project-Wide and ACC) disciplines.
9. Develop and maintain Quality Assurance and Control templates following organizational and project standards.
10. Ensure high-quality BIM package submissions according to project requirements.
11. Perform QA/QC checks on models and maintain trackers to confirm compliance.
12. Review, monitor, and report on clash detection and model coordination.
13. Conduct clash detection and visual walkthroughs.
14. Prepare discipline models and content for reviews and coordination meetings.
15. Coordinate with the BIM Manager on design changes and model challenges.
16. Prepare models and reports for constructability analysis.
17. Validate and export model data for internal activities.
18. Monitor and report on the quality of as-built models.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

1. Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering from an accredited institution.
2. Minimum 3 to 8 years’ experience with BIM delivery projects.
3. Experience with infrastructure projects and utility modeling is an advantage.
4. Knowledge of BIM standards (ISO19650, PAS1192-2, BS1192).
5. Understanding of BIM model requirements (LOD, naming conventions, parametric modeling).
6. Ability to set up Civil 3D project files; strong problem-solving and multitasking skills; produce Civil 3D models per project requirements.
