Job summary

Tanqeeb in Dubai, UAE is seeking a skilled BIM specialist to develop and maintain 3D fire protection models and create coordinated drawings for fire fighting systems.

You will coordinate with MEP disciplines, perform clash detection with Navisworks, and ensure models meet project LOD and UAE Fire & Life Safety Code requirements.

The role requires hands-on Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and strong communication to support installation and site teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Drafting, or related discipline.
• 2–5 years of BIM modeling experience, preferably in fire protection.
• Strong hands-on experience with Autodesk Revit MEP.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Navisworks Manage.
• Ability to read architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Understanding of NFPA standards and UAE Fire & Life Safety Code preferred.
• Experience preparing shop drawings and as-built drawings for fire protection projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for fire fighting systems using Autodesk Revit.
• Prepare layouts for sprinkler systems, fire hose reels, hydrants, wet risers, dry risers, pumps, and piping.
• Generate coordinated shop drawings, sections, elevations, and installation drawings from BIM models.
• Review drawings to ensure proper coordination of fire protection systems.
• Perform clash detection and coordination using Navisworks and coordinate with other MEP disciplines.
• Resolve clashes with Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structural, and Architectural teams.
• Prepare BIM models according to project LOD requirements and BIM standards.
• Update BIM models based on consultant comments, site conditions, RFIs, and design revisions.
• Generate quantities, schedules, BOQs, and material take-offs from BIM models.
• Prepare coordinated drawings for submission to consultants and project teams.
• Develop as-built BIM models and drawings based on final site installations.
• Ensure fire fighting layouts comply with drawings, project specifications, and relevant fire protection standards.
• Coordinate with design engineers, project engineers, site teams, and BIM coordinators throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain proper BIM documentation, naming conventions, file structures, and revision control.
• Support project teams during installation and construction by providing accurate coordinated drawings and model information.

1. Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for fire fighting systems using Autodesk Revit.

2. Prepare layouts for sprinkler systems, fire hose reels, fire hydrants, wet risers, dry risers, fire pumps, and associated piping systems.

3. Generate coordinated shop drawings, sections, elevations, details, and installation drawings from BIM models.

4. Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to ensure proper coordination of fire protection systems.

5. Perform clash detection and coordination using Navisworks and coordinate with other MEP disciplines.

6. Resolve clashes and technical coordination issues with Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structural, and Architectural teams.

7. Prepare BIM models according to project LOD requirements and company BIM standards.

8. Update BIM models based on consultant comments, site conditions, RFIs, and design revisions.

9. Generate quantities, schedules, BOQs, and material take-offs from BIM models when required.

10. Prepare coordinated drawings for submission to consultants and project teams.

11. Develop as-built BIM models and drawings based on final site installations.

12. Ensure fire fighting layouts comply with approved drawings, project specifications, and relevant fire protection standards.

13. Coordinate with design engineers, project engineers, site teams, and BIM coordinators throughout the project lifecycle.

14. Maintain proper BIM documentation, model naming conventions, file structures, and revision control.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Drafting, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in BIM modeling, preferably in fire fighting or fire protection systems.

• Strong hands-on experience with Autodesk Revit MEP.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Navisworks Manage.

• Good understanding of fire fighting systems including:

  • Sprinkler systems

  • Fire hose reel systems

  • Fire hydrant systems

  • Wet and dry riser systems

  • Fire pump systems

  • Fire water piping networks

• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.

• Experience in BIM coordination and clash detection.

• Understanding of NFPA standards, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, and relevant project requirements is preferred.

• Experience preparing shop drawings and as-built drawings for fire protection projects.

• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

• Previous experience with fire fighting, MEP contracting, or fire protection companies will be an advantage.
