Job summary

Albatha Group in the United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced BIM Manager to lead BIM implementation across a portfolio of high-value MEP projects. The role owns BIM strategy, standards, and execution from tender through design coordination, construction, and handover, ensuring clash-free, constructible models and data for downstream use.

You will mentor BIM Coordinators and drive efficiency with Revit MEP, Navisworks, and BIM 360/ACC, aligning with ISO 19650 and client requirements.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of BIM experience in MEP contracting, with leadership in large-value projects.
• 4–5 years in a BIM Manager/Lead role, overseeing multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong knowledge of BIM standards (ISO 19650) and CDE management.
• Proven ability to develop BEP, modeling protocols, and standards across disciplines.
• Experience producing coordinated shop drawings and supporting prefabrication workflows.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced BIM Manager to lead BIM implementation and coordination across our portfolio of large-value MEP projects (HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Electrical). The role owns BIM strategy, standards, and execution from tender stage through design coordination, construction, and handover, ensuring clash-free, constructible MEP models that drive project efficiency and reduce site rework.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company's BIM Execution Plan (BEP) for each project, aligned with client/employer information requirements (EIR/OIR)
• Establish and enforce BIM standards, modeling protocols, naming conventions, and Level of Development (LOD) requirements across all MEP disciplines
• Define and maintain the Common Data Environment (CDE) workflow and file/folder structures
• Drive company-wide BIM maturity — standardizing templates, families/objects libraries, and workflows across projects

Project Coordination & Delivery

• Lead multidisciplinary BIM coordination (MEP-to-MEP, MEP-to-structure, MEP-to-architecture) to identify and resolve clashes before construction
• Chair BIM coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and client BIM teams
• Oversee production of coordinated shop drawings, fabrication models, and spool drawings from validated BIM models
• Ensure models support downstream uses: quantity take-off, prefabrication, sequencing/4D, and cost estimation (5D) where applicable
• Review and approve models/drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project specifications before issue

Team & Resource Management

• Lead, train, and mentor BIM Coordinators and Modelers across MEP disciplines
• Allocate BIM resources across concurrent large-value projects based on priority and project phase
• Set performance expectations and conduct quality reviews of modeling output

Software & Technology

• Administer BIM authoring and coordination platforms (Revit MEP, Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC, Solibri, etc.)
• Evaluate and implement new BIM tools/technologies (laser scanning, point cloud integration, automation/Dynamo scripting) to improve efficiency
• Manage model federation, version control, and data integrity across the CDE

Stakeholder & Client Management

• Act as primary BIM point of contact for clients, consultants, and main contractors
• Support tender submissions with BIM capability statements, BEPs, and coordination methodology
• Provide BIM-derived data to support project reporting, progress tracking, and handover documentation (COBie, asset data, O&M models)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical is a MUST
• 10+ years of BIM experience in MEP contracting, with at least 4–5 years in a BIM Manager/Lead role on large-value MEP projects (commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or high-rise)
• Proven experience managing BIM coordination across HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting disciplines
• Strong proficiency in Revit MEP, Navisworks Manage, and clash detection/coordination workflows
• Solid understanding of ISO 19650 or equivalent BIM standards and CDE management
• Experience producing coordinated shop drawings and supporting prefabrication/fabrication workflows
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing BIM teams across multiple concurrent projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in ISO 19650, Autodesk Certified Professional, or equivalent
• Experience with Dynamo/scripting for workflow automation
• Familiarity with 4D/5D BIM (scheduling and cost integration)
• Experience working on design-build or EPC-delivered MEP projects
• Knowledge of point cloud/laser scanning integration for existing/retrofit projects
