Job summary

Damac Properties in Dubai seeks an experienced Data Center BIM Lead with a Mechanical Engineering background to join our Data Centre Design team and support large-scale, mission-critical developments across international markets.

You will lead BIM/CAD teams, drive mechanical design and coordinate systems for hyperscale facilities, ensuring quality and on-time delivery through IFC and design reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with strong design background.
• 10+ years of experience in BIM/CAD and engineering design.
• Proven experience leading BIM/CAD teams and supervising deliverables.
• Recent data centre design experience, hyperscale or large-scale facilities preferred.
• Strong understanding of HVAC and cooling systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and mentor multidisciplinary BIM/CAD teams to deliver high-quality designs.
• Oversee mechanical BIM modelling, CAD production and coordination from concept to IFC.
• Coordinate mechanical systems, HVAC, cooling and MEP infrastructure.
• Manage model coordination, clash detection and design reviews.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Data Center BIM Lead with a Mechanical Engineering background to join our Data Centre Design team in Dubai, supporting large-scale, mission-critical data centre developments across international markets.

The successful candidate must have extensive experience leading BIM/CAD teams, strong mechanical design expertise and direct experience delivering data centre design projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and mentor multidisciplinary BIM/CAD teams, ensuring high-quality design deliverables.
• Oversee mechanical BIM modelling, CAD production and design coordination from concept through detailed design and IFC.
• Coordinate mechanical systems, including HVAC, cooling and associated MEP infrastructure.
• Manage multidisciplinary model coordination, clash detection and design reviews.
• Establish BIM/CAD standards, workflows, quality assurance processes and delivery schedules.
• Collaborate with engineering consultants, design managers and project stakeholders.

Mandatory Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in BIM/CAD and engineering design.
• Proven experience leading and managing BIM/CAD teams, including supervising technical deliverables and team performance.
• Recent data centre design experience, ideally involving hyperscale or large-scale facilities.
• Strong mechanical engineering design knowledge, particularly HVAC and cooling systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks.
• Experience delivering mechanical design and BIM documentation from concept through IFC.
• Strong multidisciplinary MEP coordination and clash-resolution experience.
