BIM Coordinator

Job Purpose:

BIM Coordinator is responsible for managing and implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes within projects, ensuring effective collaboration between design and construction teams. The role includes coordinating BIM models, maintaining data accuracy, resolving clashes, and supporting project teams in adhering to BIM standards and workflows.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Develop, manage, and update BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) for projects, in line with project goals and requirements.
2. Create and coordinate multidisciplinary BIM models (architecture, structural, MEP, etc.).
3. Ensure compliance with industry standards, company protocols, and client-specific BIM requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Conduct clash detection using software tools like Navisworks, Solibri, and BIM 360 to identify and resolve coordination issues between disciplines.
5. Review and ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of BIM models to meet project and client expectations.
6. Support project teams in resolving design conflicts, optimizing models for constructability, and ensuring compliance with the BIM standards.
7. Manage project-specific Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud or BIM 360, ensuring smooth integration of all data.
8. Facilitate coordination between internal teams, external consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless BIM integration across all disciplines.
9. Facilitate coordination meetings, ensuring effective communication between teams.
10. Collaborate with IT teams to manage software licenses and troubleshooting. Conduct BIM workshops as needed.
11. Maintain comprehensive documentation for BIM workflows, procedures, and project records.
12. Assist with project handover by ensuring accurate as-built BIM models and the transfer of asset data to the client.
13. Stay current with the latest BIM technologies, tools, and best practices to continuously improve project delivery and efficiency.

Skills and Experience:

1. 5-7 years of experience in BIM coordination in UAE or Gulf.
2. Bachelor's degree in architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
3. Certification in BIM (Autodesk Certified Professional, RICS BIM Certification).
4. Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM 360.
