THE POST

ADNOC School is currently seeking a Behavior Support for an immediate start. The current vacancy is based in ADNOC School Madinat Zayed Campus, Al Dhafra Region Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Knowledge and Skills. She should:

  • 1.1 possess excellent communication skills and be willing to adapt to the demands of an international school
  • 1.2 have a caring, supportive and understanding nature in order to be an advocate for the students
  • 1.3 have counselling and advisory skills in order to be able to provide support and guidance to students and parents
  • 1.4 be resourceful and innovative in developing a the Pastoral Care system and associated programmes that is wholly based on safeguarding the students to ensure their complete well-being. The elements of an effective pastoral care system are based on:
    • Student Code of Conduct / Behavior expectations / Cultural awareness
    • Attendance / Tardiness
    • Effective parent communication
    • Collaborative working: Teachers / Counselors / Psychologists and External agencies
  • 1.5 Be able to manage the implementation and monitor the Pastoral Care system across the school
  • 1.6 Be able to provide support and guidance to staff responsible for delivering the Pastoral Care system
  • 1.7 Have a high level of awareness of current research as to how children learn and develop
  • 1.8 Be familiar with relevant pastoral care and UAE government guidelines.
  • 1.9 Have a high level of awareness of current developments in pastoral care in the UAE.
  • 1.10 Ensure that all staff involved in delivering the Pastoral Care system and associated programmes are clearly informed about and fully understand the programme’s objectives
  • 1.11 Have experience of budgeting in a school based department, in particular the ordering, maintenance, inventory, record keeping and advice on resources and equipment, including publications, hardware, software and facilities
  • 1.12 Be adept to facilitating meetings with staff, students and parents to discuss the strengths and areas of development for the schools’ pastoral care system.
  • 1.13 Undertake additional duties as required by the Principal or Vice Principal as appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree or better in subject area or education with emphasis in subject area

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum of two years’ experience preferred
