Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai is seeking a skilled Bartender for Noia, our Greek Restaurant. You will craft an outstanding beverage selection and support servers under the guidance of managers. Reports to Assistant Restaurant Manager.

Responsibilities include explaining offerings, mixing drinks, handling complaints, and ensuring smooth bar operations. The role requires 3 years of bartender experience in luxury settings and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Hold a High School qualification or equivalent; a degree or higher national diploma is preferred.
• 3 years’ experience as a bartender in a high-end bar with top service levels.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English; Arabic or other languages are a plus.
• Knowledge of bar service procedures, spirits and cigars.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Explain outlet concept and offerings to guests and describe drinks.
• Mix cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks; garnish per standards.
• Handle guest complaints effectively and report to management.
• Set up bar counter, manage inventory, and prevent stockouts during service.
• Clean and sanitize bar areas; label products with dates.
• Assist in creating new drinks for promotions and operate POS system.

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within Noia - our Greek Restaurant in Dubai, the Bartender will offer and prepare an outstanding selection of creative beverages. They will support the servers in any other required duties and tasks under the guidance of the respective managers and supervisors. Bartender reports to the Assistant Restaurant Manager.

As a Bartender, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Understand and verbally explain the outlet’s concept and food and beverage offerings to guests, including the characteristics of various drinks.
• Mix and match ingredients to create outstanding cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks, spirits, beers, and wines, garnishing them as per standards.
• Handle customer complaints effectively, both verbal and written, and report them to managers without fail.
• Set up the daily bar counter, ensuring all necessary ingredients and equipment are prepared, and check inventory to avoid running out of stock during service periods.
• Clean and sanitize the bar areas after each shift, conduct periodic deep cleaning, and ensure correct date labelling for all products.
• Assist in creating new mixed drinks and cocktails for promotional activities and new menus and operate the point of sales system to process orders.

As a Bartender, we expect from you:

• Hold a High School qualification or equivalent, with a Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality/Hotel/Business Management preferred.
• Have 3 years’ experience as a Bartender in a high-end bar with the highest service levels, and a minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a bartender in a luxury hotel/resort.
• Possess basic computer skills, including MS Office, and have strong verbal and written communication skills in English (Arabic or other languages preferred).
• Demonstrate knowledge of bar service procedures and standards, and good knowledge of spirits and cigars.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with guests and colleagues, as well as exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Have physical capabilities to stand for long periods and flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs.
