School Accountant Job

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Responsibilities
  1. Review and approve purchase requisitions for budget availability and proper coding.
  2. Process supplier payments via 3-way matching, invoice, PO, and GRN with proper due diligence checks and validation.
  3. Ensure supplier accounts are reconciled; highlight unreconciled transactions to relevant departments for further action.
  4. Manage petty cash as per policy to meet business requirements.
  5. Handle asset creation, depreciation runs, and monthly closing of the Fixed Assets (FA) module.
  6. Manage month-end closing activities accurately and timely.
  7. Prepare and review monthly MIS reports with the Assistant Finance Manager.
  8. Present monthly MIS reports to Principal and OSM for decision-making.
  9. Prepare monthly balance sheet schedules and review with the Assistant Finance Manager.
  10. Prepare bank reconciliation statements, review with AFM, and submit to the AE Group Finance Treasury team.
  11. Ensure P&L and balance sheet accounts are accurate by clearing all unreconciled balances.
  12. Assist in preparing the annual school budget and expense details in coordination with school and HQ finance teams.
  13. Support internal and external audits by providing audit Letters of Representation (LOR).
Job Specific Knowledge & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in finance, or professional qualifications with at least 2 years in a similar role.
  • Fluent in English (written and oral).
  • Attention to detail with diligent follow-up; ability to execute tasks timely.
  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to handle pressure.
  • Advanced Excel skills with proven financial modeling experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with various business functions for analysis inputs.
  • Leadership capability to manage a team.
  • Ability to focus on details while maintaining strategic perspective.
  • Deadline-oriented with ownership of work.
  • Excellent analytical abilities and experience with MS Office presentations and reporting tools.
