Job summary

A leading hotel in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Bartender who will exemplify the highest standards of hospitality. Responsibilities include preparing beverages, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the bar area. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of bartending experience in a luxury setting, along with impeccable knowledge of cocktails and a passion for enhancing guest experiences.

Qualifications

Job description

  • To serve our guests in accordance with Anantara standards of food and beverage quality, presentation and sanitation, in a gracious and professional manner.
  • To display the best of our national hospitality and professionalism with guests.
  • To take pride in all facets of service, quality, appearance and cleanliness, in yourself and your area of responsibility.
  • To understand and adhere to Beverage Department Standard Operating Procedures and to always be looking to recommend improvements to those procedures.
  • To professionally set up bar at the start of opening, including liquor, icing, glassware, juices and garnishes.
  • To process drink orders in proper calling order, to check for correct number of drinks and manage billing quickly and efficiently.
  • To make all cocktails in accordance with Anantara Resorts & Spas standard beverage manual, using full standard measures
  • Barman will receive and check liquor against previous shift’s requisitions. Any discrepancies with the receiving order should be brought to the attention of the F&B Supervisor.
  • To manage security in the work area, and at no time to leave the bar area unless properly relieved by a colleague.
  • Assist with cleanup - mopping floors, removal of cans and bottles, general cleaning of rails and counters, removal of melting ice in bins.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years Bartending experience in luxury hotels / resorts.
  • High school degree or its equivalent.
  • Impeccable wine, beer and cocktail knowledge.
  • Passion for Food, Beverage and providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks.
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Multi-language is an advantage
  • Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean.

Additional Information

  • Prompt and courteous delivery of all orders, maintaining a positive image through all each guest contact and through cleanliness of guest areas.
  • Assure total guest satisfaction in the service of food and beverage through the supervision of prompt and courteous delivery of all Restaurants and Room Service orders
  • During shift, ensure that guests are satisfied by assisting with serving, seating, communication with kitchen, and by striving to speak to all guests.
  • Assist in maintaining a highly motivated and well trained staff
  • Open and close shift in accordance with Manager’s Checklist.
  • Train, maintain and enforce all Anantara Service Standards
  • Properly execute revenue and check control procedures on shift
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment for all Associates and guests
  • Gather and implement all proper tools for running shifts (i.e. schedules, floor plans, reservations, checks)
  • Find solutions for problems such as call outs, last minute bookings, or any other daily problems that may arise.
  • Be on the floor during entire meal period and ensure adequate coverage
  • Ensure that only a quality product is being served
  • Manage an effective repair and maintenance program through the use of work orders, inspections, etc.
  • Exercise station rotation to ensure stations are distributed fairly. Handle daily Associate relations (i.e. scheduling, time adjustments, etc.)
  • Assist any Associate in his / her job performance, when required, to ensure guest satisfaction. Assist in implementing an effective training program for new and current associates
  • Encourage problem solving by Associates through proper training and empowerment, to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Establish effective communication with Associates to gain their trust and respect through his / her hard work. Maintain fair and consistent counseling and / or disciplinary procedures in accordance with Anantara’s Guarantee of Fair Treatment Policy
  • Identify and recommend incentive programs, new ideas, and methods of operation
